As early as 2007, Will laid the groundwork for a unique model enabling small-scale greenhouse gas (GHG) emitters to access carbon markets. This formative period saw the creation of the Sustainable Community<\/em><\/a> concept, the development of the international VM0018 methodology certified under the VCS program, and government support confirming the model\u2019s strong potential. During this phase, Will established the foundations of a social innovation focused on carbon equity, collective action, and the democratization of GHG reduction monetization.<\/p>\n

2015: The Paris Agreement and Will\u2019s Incremental Acceleration (2015-2025)<\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/h3>\n

Beginning in 2016, the Paris Agreement acted as a powerful catalyst. For Will, it marked a decisive turning point: the deployment of eight successive Monitoring, Reporting and Verification (MRV)<\/strong> cycles, rapid growth in membership within the Quebec Sustainable Community (QSC)<\/em>, integration of new emission-reduction technologies by QSC members, and increasing recognition of the model as a critical solution for SMEs. Over this period, Will also completed seven carbon revenue distributions to its members.<\/p>\n

The organization navigated two major up-and-down cycles of the Voluntary Carbon Market (VCM)<\/strong>: an initial downturn around 2015, followed by a strong rebound that peaked in 2021\u20132022, and a subsequent decline in 2023\u20132024 which triggered a global reset of VCM integrity standards. Despite these fluctuations, Will continued to grow and further strengthened the credibility of its model.<\/p>\n
